Not long after Nintendo released its latest and greatest handheld combination games console; a NeoGaf user who goes by the name Trike opened a thread claiming to have "accidentally" hacked the system's debug menu whilst browsing. In the menu, Trike reported seeing posts to the Miiverse by Administrators, the mention of yet to be announced games and other sensitive information.
Nintendo have now moved to clarify the situation to allay any fears that this might have brought on to Wii U users around the globe and have released a statement saying that the menu that was seen is in fact a fake:
"It has come to our attention that some people were able to access a mock up menu on Miiverse following the launch of Wii U in the US," reads the official statement given to Games Industry International. "Please note that this was only a mock up menu and has now been removed and is not accessible."
Nintendo has not yet commented on any of the content that was in the ‘mock up’ menu that was revealed by Trike, this included some of Nintendo’s flagships series such as Metal Gear Solid and Yoshi's Island which I’m sure we would all like to know when these titles are likely to hit the Wii U.
