An Xbox Tablet?

Is the Xbox Surface Tablet in development?

This week we've started to hear rumours that Microsoft is working on a special 7" tablet, powered by an ARM processor, with high bandwidth ram and all specially designed to work with Xbox but more importantly; Xbox users.

With the title "Xbox Surface" floating around and if the rumours are true (which in this sort of cases, often are), the device is said to run a modified version of Windows RT which will be specially tailored to the gaming audience.

Now call me crazy, but SmartGlass and a 7" tablet that is clearly capable of some high speed video streaming absolutely stinks of what the Wii U controller does, could the Surface be Microsoft's answer to the Wii U controller? of course it could!

Of course there is no official word on announcement for the product, but it's safe to say that Microsoft is wanting a bigger piece of the tablet market and by going straight after the gaming market they might just find a way to do it.

There is just one thing that I want to clear up about this rumour, device or what ever you want to call it, can you imagine a specialised 7-inch tablet targeted at Xbox users? I can and it sounds like it might actually work, but quite frankly I don't see why I would need or want one. Let us know in the comments section what you think of this new device, would you buy one?
