For you people that don’t know what DayZ is then let me explain. DayZ is a Zombie mod for ARMA2 which basically went global and main stream (to date there are about 1.4m users at any one time). DayZ is a different kind of mod though, even though it uses the same engine and maps that ARMA2 uses there has been some serious modding to get it to what we are seeing at the moment. DayZ is not the same as other Zombie games out there such as L4D or Dead Island this is much more a kind of simulator where you have to think about food, water, and making sure you don’t break anything.

Well ever since the creator of DayZ (Dean "Rocket" Hall) announced that there would be a standalone version of DayZ I have been waiting for more news of when I would be able to get my hands on it. Well an announcement not too long ago Dean announced that they would be launching a standalone version of what Dean describes as his “accidental project” in November.

Hall stated that “it’s been challenging. It’s a slower development than I’d like, and while that’s not going to affect the release date, it is going to affect how ambitious we can be with the actual content” saying that the reason for this is that he needed to stop doing interviews and start focusing on the project.

I for one will be looking forward to the release of a (hopefully) bug free standalone version of DayZ
