With the start of a new week comes a new set of sales figures, this week we can see that Borderlands 2 is over to a very strong start and takes the top spot, with higher than expected pre-orders and so much hype, there wasn't a doubt in my mind that it would have been anywhere else in the charts on launch week. Also up at the top we can see two more new entries to the charts with the launch of F1 2012 coming in at 2nd and Pro Evo 2013 landing in third. This has of course bumped Sleeping Dogs down to 4th place, there is no shame in that given its had a couple of weeks in the top reaches of the charts and its clearly still selling well.
Another pleasant surprise this week is seeing Little Big Planet PS Vita hitting 6th place, showing the Vita has got some legs on it after all when it comes to selling power and beating titles like Super Mario Bros 2, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Guild Wars 2 in the charts is no small feat, something I'm sure Sony will be very happy with indeed.
But that isn't the biggest news here, with no sign of Call of Duty 3 or Battlefield 3 in the charts, heralding a shift in sales patterns as we hit the long run till Christmas and the developers start pulling out their big bugs. Borderlands 2 will no doubt hold on well throughout the season, titles like F1 2012 and Pro Evo start the yearly sports title updates releases, which always sell well, even if it is just for a few months, then expect sales of titles like Skyrim and Lego Harry Potter to spike at Christmas approaches and prices on these titles tumble.
