With the start of a new week comes a new set of sales figures, this week we can see that Sleeping Dogs is holding strong at #1, no doubt following great response from game review websites, which is why I expect this game to sell well up until Christmas. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has made a strong start hitting in at #2, but I'm not so sure it will be able to keep the pace to stay in the top 20 for long, given the dip in popularity for the series in recent years.
The Lego series is doing well this week too, with both Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes up from 5th to 3rd place and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 still holding a #12 meaning there is still a lot of weight left in the franchise, something that should only see further boosts with the launch of Lego Lord of the Rings around the release time of the new Hobbit movie.
Guild Wars 2 has dropped one place this week, but its yet to slip from the top 10, which is a great sign for PC gamers, showing that with all the concerns of PC piracy, the system can shift a lot of units at retail and that MMORPG gaming is still cool.
But the biggest surprise comes that Call of Duty: MW3 has dropped 4 places in the charts, with Battlefield 3 loosing footing in the top 20 altogether for the first time since its launch, although with new DLC always on the horizon I expect to see it pick up pace again in the runup to christmas, as its price drops, offering a cheaper alternative to the soon to be released Black Ops II.
