AMD's Radeon HD 7000 Series gets another wave of price cuts

Gamers can rejoice as prices take another fall to compete with NVIDIA

If you're a gamer, then today is a good day, as AMD drop the prices on their graphics card in retaliation of the launch of the new GTX 660 and GTX 650 launch from NVIDIA, with the obvious aim of trying to steal some of NVIDIA's customers, for obvious reasons.

With the launch of the 660 and the 650 targeting the budget market rather nicely AMD has accepted the challenge and dropped prices across their full range, according to softpedia the new RRP prices will be as follows;

Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition: $430 and up
Radeon HD 7970: $410 and up
Radeon HD 7950 Boost Edition: $300 and up
Radeon HD 7950: $290 and up
Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition: $240 and up
Radeon HD 7850: $200 and up

This of course makes them similar prices to the NVIDIA offerings, but the real value will comes down to what the customer wants, with reviews of the new Nvidia graphics cards flooding in today only time will tell in terms of performance and sales, so which card do you have your eye on at the moment?
