Things are still in full swing here at the International Centre in Telford for day three Sunday is usually a manic day here at Insomnia as most of the gamers who are have to be at work on the Monday flood the exhibition hall for one last chance to win some competitions and bag some fantastic prizes.

Today was the closing date for our competitions and the gamers were really pushing each other battling it out for the top spot on our leaderboards. With prizes like a PS3 to give away who can blame them?

The Starcraft II tournament was on the main stage and the seats were filled as people flocked to see Bling and JohnnyRecco fight it out for the prize of £1,500 plus a trip to the WCG in China!

We’ve seen lots of usual faces this time round and it’s always nice to see past competition winners coming back to defend their titles or just to stop by and say hello for a catch up. Buffy, one of our first PC build contenders, came down yesterday and had a small catch up with the CCL guys and asked how we were all doing.  I’ve heard plenty of people say it’s not about the gaming it’s about the community and I have to say I agree.

We’ve had some fun times too; one of the gamers took his PC to the eTeknix help booth with some overheating problems. Turns out he had left the film covering the thermal paste on the bottom of his cooler when he fitted it, but the guys were more than happy to have a look and get him going again.

If you have never attended an I Series before I strongly urge you to if you’re part of a clan, gaming team, or even just an avid gamer. Speak to some of your online friends who live locally or who could help you pool together and come down as a team. Join the Multiplay forums and get chatting, most of their members are great people and can almost always be found here at a I Series – Henners I’m looking at you on that one!

Great people and a great event. Closing day on Monday – Until next time.
