Valve, creators of leading technologies such as the Source engine and of course Steam have today announced that they’re expanding their offerings via the Steam platform.

However the article does state that they intend to offer a range of software from creativity to productivity.
Although it’s exciting to see how well the use of the Steamworks features will be utilised by the software vendors, it should make life a lot easier for everybody with easier installation, automatic updates and the ability to store work and configuration data on each Steam users personal cloud meaning you can take you work anywhere you are able to log into a Steam account.
Mark Richardson at Valve said “The 40 million gamers frequenting Steam are interested in more than playing games ... they have told us they would like to have more of their software on Steam, so this expansion is in response to those customer requests."
