Review: NVIDIA GTX680 Review and Benchmarks

Martin takes the NVIDIA GTX680 to it's limits and pits it against some of the latest and most demanding games available today. Then overclocks it and does it again

Having never really used an Nvidia card previously, I was quite anxious to use get my hands on a GTX680, I was also interested in the future prospect of easy to set up 3D as Nvidia has much better support with that I feel.
I feel the GTX680 offers quite an impressive amount of performance and is by far the best single GPU I’ve ever owned, it’s nice and powerful while not being overly hot and also doesn’t run very loud at all.
I feel there’s some improvements to be made with driver enhancements from Nvidia which will start to trickle out shortly, perhaps they’ll be able to push out another 10%+ performance in current “heavy hitting” titles.
For overclocking I think the card has quite some potential, it’s far from a hot running card and I wouldn’t be surprised if people were able to hit 1.4GHZ core clocks out of it under water and with higher voltages.
Overall, I’d have no problem recommending this card to anyone who was after a GPU configuration around 400 pounds.
