In what could be the biggest effort in futility a Twitch.tv stream has begun a playthrough of Pokemon Red. The stream however is a bit different to normal, as it allows for control inputs to be typed out in chat and sent to the game, allowing for a crowdsourced playthrough.
Now as you can expect this has led to many problematic events during the stream, including the releasing of two Pokemon when wanting to deposit them, and also encountering setbacks caused because of the stream delay and trolls, including having to re-navigate arduous routes because of going over a ledge.
So far people have continued to play the game for over 4 days, and currently it doesn't seem like the madness is going to end soon, but one thing is for sure, it's certainly fun to watch and it has even spawned its own meme page - http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/twitch-plays-pokemon
