EA have announced that you will be allowed to return EA full game downloads (PC or Mac) purchased on Origin for a full refund. This is a step up above other services such as Steam (where no such policy is available, unless it is a cancelled pre-order) in terms of trying to be nice to the customer.
EA will allow a return within the following circumstances, "within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from when you purchased it, or within the first seven days after the game's release date if you pre-ordered it (whichever of these conditions happens first)."
Being able to return a digital game is still pretty unheard of but it is certainly encouraging to see companies starting to allow it. By offering something that Valve doesn't besides different games it means that people may just take a chance on a game they haven't played before, If it doesn't work properly, or they just don't like it, you are covered so you won't be out of pocket.
To request the refund it couldn't be simpler either, all you have to do is visit your order history and click the "Request a Refund" button, then answer a few questions about why you want a refund and Origin will take it from there.
