As many as twenty people have been injured with seven people hospitalised, when a publicity stunt went horribly wrong in Seoul. In an event that has been called 'World War G', LG hosted an event in which vouchers for a free LG G2 phone were dangled from helium balloons.

People arrived armed with BB Guns and amazingly knives on sticks, up for the challenge of getting one of the smartphone vouchers. The rest of the planned events have now been cancelled, due to safety concerns.

LG have taken responsibility for the result of the promotion, offering to cover all related medical costs that the people who have been injured may incur.

LG have released a statement regarding event, which is below.

“LG Electronics deeply regrets that a number of Korean participants were injured during an outdoor promotional event in Seoul, Korea. We can confirm that seven participants were hospitalised and, although none of the injuries were serious, LG takes full responsibility for the unfortunate situation and has offered to cover all related medical expenses. LG is investigating the incident to ensure that such an occurrence can be avoided in the future
