Runescape, the massively multiplayer online role playing game, published by Jagex have announced that they are going to be releasing a HTML 5 compliant version of the game, calling it Runescape 3.
The new game will feature the Dawn of the Sixth Age, where players will have the option of shaping the fate of characters and the flow of the battle with weekly in game choices.
From the change you can also expect improvements to the overall visual quality, with improved lighting, draw distance and colour it should also help reduce loading times if you need to go to different areas in the game. The game is also set to have an improved audio engine with some new pieces played by the Slovak Symphony Orchestra.
The good news is that Runescape 3 will be a continuation of the game so you can keep your characters and stats, if you wanted to you can even use the Java client that has been powering Runescape since around 2004, although the new visual upgrades will be lost if you do.
