Benchmarking In Focus - 3DMark

Another entry in our series about benchmarking programs

3DMark is another program from Futuremark, the company behind PCMark, and is a program designed to benchmark a PC's 3d graphic rendering and CPU Workload processing capabilities.

3DMark 11 is the latest installment in the series, released in December 2010, an old program by todays standards, is still used as the cornerstone of benchmarking by many review and tech sites, as it stresses your PC by using features from DirectX 11, including tessalation, compute shaders and multi-threading.

The results page shows your score aligned with simalar scores, so it can help see if your system is underperforming, it also has options to show more detailed results for the tests performed. Depending on the PC being tested it could also be classed as rubbing salt into your wound It also shows where your PC scores in the grand scheme of things so you can in our case envy all of the results that score higher
