Razer have announced a new piece of software called "Razer Surround". It aims to offer the best virtual 7.1 channel surround experience and is compatible with any set of stereo headphones and even earphones, it also comes with pre-configured configurations for all Razer headsets.

One of the distinguishing features is the ability to fine tune the calibration to fit your ears as Razer understand that the "one-size-fits-all approach" used by traditional virtual surround solutions is not always ideal.

Razer are currently offering this as a FREEish download, but they do ask you to make a donation to the Child's Play Charity.

Childs Play is a charity that purchases games consoles, peripherals, games themselves, and more for hospitals and therapy activity.
