Hon Hai Precision Industry or as you may know them "Foxconn", are said to be working with Mozilla, the famed creators of the popular Firefox web browser. The new device is said to be a joint effort between the two companies and is set to run on Firefox OS although any exact details have yet to be confirmed.
Mozilla recently confirmed the partnership but isn't ready to share the exact details of their new device, but word on the street is that it's a tablet and Mozilla is expect to say more on this new piece of hardware at Focus Taiwan on the 3rd of June this year.
This goes well with what Mozilla has been working on recently, where they've signed partnerships with Alcatel, Huawei, ZTE and LG for Firefox phones, something that will no doubt benefit them and carry over to their tablet device, giving them a broader portfolio of products on the market.
This could give Foxconn a life line other than Apple, giving more attention to Android and now Firefox OS should help the company be more diverse.
Tizen, Ubuntu, iOS, Firefox, Android and Windows are all about to become the weapons of choice for next-gen tablets, but which ones will come out on top remains to be seen.
