Ever since the original Theme Park game I had on my first ever PC, followed by the greatness that was Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, I've loved a good park management sim and adding custom rollercoaster designs just makes them even better. So how about we kick this habit straight into the modern era, with high end graphics, simulation engines and virtual reality peripherals, well that's exactly what Pantera Entertainment have done.
The game has completed its original Kickstarter crowd funding and stretch goals are being ticked off like crazy as the company continues to receive funding for their promising sounding title. Having blasted past their $80,000 target the company is now using extra funds to add both Razer Hydra motion sensor technology and Oculus Rift VR headset technology.
The game is already shaping up nicely and you can see some great looking videos over on their Kickstarter page but the most exciting thing in my opinion is that this is just another great reason why I need to buy Oculus Rift, like I needed any more reasons to start with!
“Theme Park Studio breaks new ground with its new custom flat rides designer, a unique tool that gives players the opportunity to design, build, and invent custom rides, or simply select from the extensive library of pre-built rides. Extensive landscaping tools, custom scenery importing, and advanced vegetation solutions that make trees, bushes and flowers react to wind and turbulence make it possible to create stunning, picturesque environments. A full particle effects editor delivers amazing and realistic visuals, and full 3D stereoscopic support lets you experience your rides in eye-popping 3D. When your park is complete, open the gates and watch guests tour your park and enjoy the coasters and rides.” - Panera
It is well worth keeping an eye on this title and it's just another reason to celebrate how awesome PC gaming can be.
