This week Samsung made the announcement that they had hit a new benchmark with their OLED business, with over 300 million panels (cumulative) having been produced and shipped since they began their production of the technology in 2007. In short, that's a lot of panels each year and it goes a long way to prove Samsung are still top of their game in this field.
Organic Light Emitting Displays (OLED) were first mass produced by Samsung in 2007 and have since gone on to be used in all kinds of devices that range from Digital Cameras to Tablet PCs and their popularity and trend only seems to continue as the technology and its applications increase in popularity. Something that is signified by the fact Samsung produced the last 100 million units in the last seven months along!
With 98% market share, bendable screen technology on display and lets no forget the plethora of OLED screens that were on display at CES 2013, this is shaping up to be a good year not only for OLED technology but Samsung too.
