Just months after the last release of the 4th Generation iPad and the new iPad Mini, the internet is abuzz with rumours of Apple’s next line of tablet devices, rumoured for release in March of this year.
Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White claims:
“Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March. The iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini that debuted in October.”
This rumour also falls in line with a report from a Japanese blog, Macotakara, which claimed a similar plan. They also rumoured that the iPad 5 will sport a thinner and lighter form factor and an update to the very popular iPad Mini which would sport a retina display. Bringing the device in line with the latest line of full size iPads.
Typically, Apple has gone for an annual life cycle for its iDevices but last year, Apple surprised everyone with its announcement of the iPad 4 just months after their release of the iPad 3. Whilst these are just internet rumours, with Apple’s current trend, it could be likely. If the rumours are true however, it is sure to annoy some fans who have just splashed the cash on the latest line.
