D-Link are showcasing their battery powered mobile WiFi hotspot router which was named an International CES Innovations 2013 Honouree.
The device is built around D-Link’s SharePort Mobile applications for IOS and Android which enables users to connect wirelessly to the device to share and stream digital content such as images, music, documents and videos.
The router has an integrated ethernet port allowing the unit to connect to wired networks and act as a wireless access point and can even be used as a wireless repeater for extending wireless networks.
An ideal application for the unit would be for covering events such as CES, a press team could all connect to this unit to share, modify and store data from their mobile devices on the go, with its portable battery the unit could be kept in a kit-bag and carried around with the team while still being accessible to mobile devices.
Supporting wireless speeds of up to 300Mbps and a 4000mAh battery the unit can operate for an estimated eight hours of continuous usage and can even be used to charge mobile devices such as iPads.
