Q&A

Do you have you a question about the Antec P7 Silent Elite Performance Mid Tower PC Gaming Case?

Q: I want to fit another fan to the front of my case. Can you advise how many Dbs the supplied fans are please so I can get one similar
Answer by Website User on 19th July 2022
Antec don't publish the spec's of those fans, they probably won't be anything special at this price point so most fans will be similar or better

Q: Its unclear whether there are two fans included from the description here - is there 1x120mm fan or one front and one rear?
Answer by Website User on 5th June 2020
This case has one front and one rear fan pre-installed. -MR

A couple of years I bought a Corsair Mid Tower Case that was really nice and I as I required another Mid Tower Case I thought Id get another one only problem was they had almost doubled in price. It wasnt essential to have a high spec case (quiet would be nice) so I went for this. Once everything is installed its fine, does its job but getting it installed at times was a complete pain. I know cable management is a thing where as much is hidden away as possible and on my previous case this was not too much trouble but this time it was really hard work and considering the case has no glass side panel at times you wonder is it worth the hassle as you will rarely see it. Another gripe is that I could not install the motherboard without first removing the rear cooling fan on the case.

I wanted a case that was quiet, quite large, good looking but with solid sides. I also wanted to fit an optical drive. I was a bit concerned it would look a bit cheap and plasticy but it looks really solid and smart. I love the silver accents and the new Antec logo. It was very easy to build in, I used a large X470 motherboard and have a large Sapphire R9 390 Nitro triple fan GPU yet it's still cool and quiet. It's turned on with a central illuminated power button that has the satisfying feel of the button to start a car. It would have been nice if it had a hard drive LED, this could have fed into the power button too. I might just do this as a mod. I did not pay much attention to the hard drive fittings as I only have M.2 and SSD. Fitting the CD drive is a nod to actual business use. Many government organisations will fulfil FOI requests by sending you a CD-ROM.

Spent a bit of time researching cases - probably more than I did most components! I wanted a case with a PSU shroud, a 5.25" bay for my DVD drive, plenty of space inside, good cable management options and sufficient bays for my other drives. I didn't want a see-though side panel or illuminated fans. It came with 2 quiet non-illuminated fans (can fit more or radiators if need be but currently not required. This case ticked all the boxes, feels solid and so a satisfactory purchase

Excellent Value Easy to fit if you have the correct components and more importantly don't skimp with cheap leads, of the correct type and length (get braided the plastic is a dielectric shield. I noticed an over 100% performance improvement [Download "thesoundofscience.pdf" if you're interested]) or routing can be difficult. You'd need 10 cm I think one right angled/straight and one 20 cm straight/straight. The ideal solution of course would be M.2 cards then fitting is a breeze.
