Hi, it states that there is 3 years warranty on these drives, can you please confirm this as I've heard that WD have reduced their warranties to 2 years? Thanks, Simon

Apologies, it appears that this drive has slipped through when the warranties changed, and is indeed 2 years. We shall have this updated shortly. -Danlevan

Hi, I already have 2x 2TB WD20EARS drives and am moving to a Raid 5 setup with an additional 2 drives. I believe the only difference is SATA 2/3? I am unsure as to whether they will be compatible in a Raid setup as the drives usually need to be identical? Will these drives work, but only operate at SATA2? Could you please confirm? P.S. I am considering this as an enclosure: http://www.cclonline.com/product/64219/S354UFER/External-HDD-Enclosure/StarTech-3-5-inch-4-Drive-eSATA-USB-FireWire-External-SATA-RAID-Enclosure/HDD3434/ Thanks very much.

It should work, however it will depend on the raid controller of the device you are using, unfortunately I am not able to guarantee that it will work.

Hi, Re: Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB internal 3.5" internal SATA drives... I need to ensure that the drive is a three platter version. Are you able to read the full product code from the front of the drive please? e.g. WD20EARX-00PASB0 or, from the WD20EARS version, do you have WD20EARS-00MVWB0? Thanks Steve

The current stock as of 07/06/2012 are WD20EARX-00PASB0 we do not currently have stock of any other version of this drive.

I am looking to buy an hard drive to impove my perfromce sore to 7.5. sorry about the selling I am dislixic.
Posted on Monday 21st May 2012 at 09:55
A 7200Rpm hard drive would increase your score more than this drive due to its higher read speed, but still would not get to 7.5. You would need an SSD to reach that figure. -Danlevan

Yes, this drive will work. However, as this is a slower storage drive, it will perform slower than a 7200Rpm drive. It will work fine, though. -Danlevan

My motherboard is only 3gb/s. Will this drive work OK with it? And what is the warranty on the drive?
Posted on Saturday 10th March 2012 at 11:58
Yes, this is fully backwards compatible with a SATA II port. Western Digital Caviar Green hard drives have a 2 year warranty. -Danlevan

Yes, that will be fine. SATA I, II and III are fully backwards and forwards compatible, and will just run with the speed of the lowest connection. -Danlevan

You say its got a rock solid reputation, but on Amazon there are lots of stories of this drive failing. I am looking for a disk to put in a synology NAS, how reliable is this one ?

I would have no problem recommending this drive, whilst not one of the quietest available in my experience (that tends to be the Samsung and Seagate 2TB drives) they are certainly good drives.
