TP-LINK's powerline adaptor TL-PA211 takes advantage of your homes existing electric wires to transfer data while transferring traditional power. That means, with no additional wiring required, users can simply plug the TL-PA211 into existing power sockets and establish networking infrastructure in a flash. With high-speed data transfer rates of up to 200Mbps, you can enjoy HD video streaming, online gaming, VoIP or any other high bandwidth intensive tasks all at the same time now. With the ultra-compact housing design, TP-LINK TL-PA211 is much smaller than most other 200Mbps Powerline Products. At just 30mm thick and with its high quality, elegant white shell, it almost blends in completely in front of any power outlet and additionally can be placed anywhere in the room. With advanced HomePlug AV technology, TL-PA211 provides you stable, high-speed data transfer rate up to 200Mbps on a line length up to 300 meters. Together with the built-in Qos and powerful AES encryption, TL-PA211 is such a good choice for a whole home solution to connect all network compatible devices from computers and game consoles to set-top boxes for IPTV to printers and NAS hard drives--and supplies them with broadband Internet.

The PLC connection is transmitting the data through the electric wire between two outlets, so it at least requires two PLC adaptors plugged into the outlet to transform the data streaming. With twin pack design, the starter kit ensures to establish a powerline network for he first time. The TL-PA211, Powerline Adaptor, with its logical practical product design and sophisticated Power-Saving Mode, it now consumes less power when compared with existing Powerline Adaptors. When there is no data transmission or reception occurs over a certain period of time, it will automatically switch from its regular Working Mode to Power-Saving Mode that will reduce the energy consumption by up to 65%. Simply push the Pair button on the adaptors and then you can set up a hassle-free Powerline network within minutes, which features 128-bit AES encryption for network security and data protection.

Do you have a question about the TP-LINK AV200 TL-PA211 200Mbps Mini Powerline Ethernet Adaptor Starter Kit (Twin Pack)?

Q: I have connected my Sky Router in one room and connected to my Sky+HD Box in another through the TP-Link AV 200, model TL PA211. When connected to my MacBook Pro I get a connection but my Sky Box doesn't how can I rectify this?

Q: Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing TP-Link AV200 TL devices however, i have a question. One of the devices will plug into my router in the bedroom can the second in the lounge be used for SKY + HD and Apple TV by adding a ethernet splitter. This would mean it would facilitate 2 devices. Is this possible and if not what would you recommend. I have "hot spots" in the house on getting good reception and i would prefer not running a cable through the house. thanks C.Barker
Answer by CCL on 11th February 2013
I wouldn't recommend an Ethernet splitter, but an unmanaged hub on the lounge side should do the job fine. You'd connect the hub to the powerline adapter, and then both devices to the hub. Any basic hub should be fine for this. -Danlevan

Q: I used to get 12 MB/s when I connected directly to my Super Hub, but when I connect to these Powerline adapters, I on;y get 9 MB/s. If I got the 500 MB/s version would this resolve the problem?
Answer by CCL on 24th February 2012
The reason you are only getting 9MBps is because the Ethernet ports are only 10/100 which support a max of 10MBps if the other device has an ethernet port of 10/100/1000 then this would offer support for higher data transfer speeds. However please make sure you have all the correct cables and adapters that support gigabit connections.

Q: Does this work with any broadband such as talk talk?
Answer by CCL on 4th February 2012
These kits are not reliant on your internet connection as they act as a replacement to network cables, so these should be fine with anything.

Q: my router can handle 300mbps, this is only 200, therefore will my transfer rate reduce to it's new decreased capabilities?
Answer by CCL on 28th January 2012
300MBps is generally a wireless transfer rate, any wired connections going through this device will run up to a maximum speed of 200MBps, though unless you are using gigabit ethernet cables the cables will only be 100MBps anyway.

Q: How do you get 200Mbps out of it when it only has a 10/100 Ethernet port? Would it not need a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port to achieve 200Mbps? Sorry if I'm being stupid with unit conversions!
Answer by CCL on 14th November 2011
The 200mbps is a theoretical max speed that each device can reach to communicate to each other.

Q: Can these units be plugged into a power extension lead or must they be plugged into a wall socket?
Answer by CCL on 5th September 2011
Hi, TP-Link recommend these units should be plugged straight into a wall socket, they will likely function off a trailing socket, but could suffer from interference from other devices.
