Unlike a desktop PC a laptop will be moved around throughout most of its life, this will subject the laptop to considerably more wear and tear than a normal desktop system. The LCD screen and hard drives are most susceptible to failure in a laptop and are often the most expensive components to replace. Labour costs for repairing a laptop are usually considerably more than those for desktops so this also has to be taken into consideration.
